Hey, my name is Marcelo Gadia.  I was born in Miami and lived there for three years before moving to Brazil.  While in Brazil, I had the pleasure to be surrounded by my entire family.  At a young age, I placed family as my first priority always spending plenty of time with my parents, my sister Gabi, all my cousins, and of course my beloved grandparents.  With so many great people motivating me, I began to try to define who I was.  First, I started playing sports.  I tried everything from basketball and tennis to hockey and football before finding two of my passions soccer and volleyball.

My Dad and my Mom shared my love for soccer while my love for volleyball came from my cousins. Still, my entire family supported me in my attempts to be the best I could be. At the age of eight, my family moved back to Florida but we continued to visit Brazil annually. Although being far from my other relatives was difficult, I began to meet some of my best friends while in school and continued playing sports.

Growing up in a Brazilian family that placed great importance on respect and making others happy instilled in me the idea of how great life can be if you remain positive. In my opinion, children are mostly positive, always smiling and enjoying the small things in life. This mindset motivated me to start working with children and attempting to make them smile. At the age of nine, I began volunteering at the Dan Marino Center in Weston. There, I realized how so little of your time can mean so much for other people.

I continued to volunteer throughout middle school and high school until my mom passed away when I was fifteen. My mom was the most positive person I have ever met. She always smiled even when things weren't going her way and taught me the importance of being optimistic. After her death, I tried to stay positive by remembering all the great times I had with my mom. All these memories showed me how truly important it is to make memories with the ones you love.

Suddenly, I found Pure Energy Entertainment. While at my friend's sweet sixteen, David pulled me aside and asked me if I would like a job as a dancer. I had no idea how much fun a job could be, there are days when I am not sure who is smiling the most, me or the guests I am entertaining. The rewards of the job go way beyond getting paid and I was quickly hooked. My love for my new job and my hard working attitude helped me move from a dancer to an emcee partner with the company. Pure Energy has been more than a job for me. My partners and coworkers have become part of my extended family and every time we help another family make new memories, we are making memories of our own that I will always cherish.

I am also an MC for the Miami Heat Xtreme Team.  The Xtreme Team can be seen throughout all Heat games, dancing on the court, doing T-shirt tosses, and entertaining the crowd during Heat home games.  We also do promotional events for the Miami Heat in the South Florida community.  One of my duties is to MC the Xtreme Team's halftime show in the concourse of the American Airlines Arena.  You can find out more about the Heat's xtreme team and the Miami Heat by clicking the link to the Xtreme Team 's website.
